It’s easy to miscalculate the correct sharpening angle when using a steel. For those who lack confidence in their honing skills, this electric knife sharpener should put their mind at ease. A sharpening channel on this appliance holds blades at the correct angle. Users simply draw knife blades through the groove several times at a consistent speed (with the power switch engaged) to sharpen them. Blades initially pass through coarse grindstones on either side, which actually shave metal from the blade; because blades are guided through the channel, they are always properly aligned so there is never a worry about creating burrs. Next, a pair of fine stones finish blades for a smooth edge. The replaceable grindstone cartridge easily disengages for washing out any stray metal shavings under a running faucet.
